CarePrecise Access™ State Databases
CarePrecise Access State deliveres every data point for each selected state, DC or Puerto Rico, plus non-U.S. practice locations and international Armed Forces locations, contained in the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) developed and maintains this database. All healthcare providers who are HIPAA covered entities must obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) by reporting their information via the NPPES. This represents virtually all of U.S. physicians, hospitals, and other providers who accept insurance or are associated with a hospital.
Datasets for the 50 U.S. states, DC and Puerto Rico are sold on a state-by-state basis. International Armed Forces locations are sold as a group at the per-state pricing.
- Datasets for all other locales are sold on a country-by-country basis, with one country priced the same as one state.

DATA STRUCTURE: CarePrecise Access is distributed as seven normalized relational database tables, each keyed by the National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, plus a core Microsoft Access database that links the seven files together and includes query examples, and CSV versions of the normalized datafiles. Through data normalization, CarePrecise reduces the highly redundant 314-field NPPES flat file structure to 65 unique fields, removing large volumes of unused space while preserving every character of the data and all of the original granularity. The data is in no other way "compressed," but is ready to access at as little as 13% of the original file size (varies), and in a form that can readily be searched, manipulated and imported into applications.
OTHER FORMATS: If you need a different data structure or file format, we can probably accommodate. Contact sales@careprecise.com.
OTHER SERVICES: We can match your provider list of NPI numbers with their full NPPES record, or compile lists of specific specialties in specific zip codes. Contact sales@careprecise.com.
