For the specific zip codes or mile-radius from a single zipcode, and/or specialties and subspecialties you submit, our Targeted product delivers provider NPI, contact information, including mailing address/phone/fax and practice address/phone/fax, provider names and AKA names, all reported taxonomy codes, UPINs and other identifiers, plus all other data contained in the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) for the targeted providers, updated monthly by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

APPLICATION: Used to locate providers of particular types, or all providers, within particular geographic areas. Geography can be defined by zip codes, or as a distance radius from a particular location.

FILE FORMATS: The product is delivered in two file formats, via email, download or shipped as data files on disk depending on file size, in two formats for the maximum in compatibility:

• Microsoft Access 2000/2003/2007 (.mdb); seven normalized relational tables plus a core database that links them for use
• Comma Separated Valued (.csv); seven normalized relational tables

DELIVERY and DATA FRESHNESS: Most orders can be filled within one business day. Depending on the size of the enriched file and customer preference, delivery may be via email, FTP download or shipped as data files on CD or DVD. See the Date Structure table below for the specific files and fields that will be delivered. Data delivered is subject to availability of provider-reported identifiers in the current CMS NPPES database, dated August 28, 2010. Our processing center updates our master data files monthly with each CMS data release.

PAYMENT OPTIONS: Invoice is payable with placement of order (exception: government entities and nonprofit organizations are eligible for payment by Purchase Order). DATA STRUCTURE: CarePrecise Select is distributed as seven normalized relational database tables, each keyed by the National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, plus a core Microsoft Access database that links the seven files together and includes query examples, plus CSV versions of the normalized datafiles. Through data normalization, CarePrecise reduces the highly redundant 314-field NPPES flat file structure to 65 unique fields, removing large volumes of unused space while preserving every character of the data and all of the original granularity. The data is in no other way "compressed," but is ready to access at as little as 13% of the original file size (varies), and in a form that can readily be searched, manipulated and imported into applications.
